@TrueBurna People ask "name a grass type that isn't green" then say "luxray should be dark type because of the dark fur" lol
I think it's fine that types aren't dictated by colours. It allows more freedom in designs, like how not all fish Pokémon need to be water type
@moongiestbeams@NoodleBos Monkey paw curls, next regulation introduces tera and mega and the abilities stack
In all seriousness I'd guess we'll revisit generational gimmicks in release order, so z moves next, then mega + z moves, then dmax, then tera. And if wiwa comes out in between we'll have that
@EquinoxNGS@mrjinjin2612 Nah lots of media romanticised smoking. So many instance of an attractive character smoking as a sultry relaxation and they never touch on how deteriorating it is. To this day people use smoking as a "tough guy" caricature element
@SecretDJFaust@Bluepr1ntX Another issue is it's a slippery slope. You can have intentions for a mature discussion but once one extremist starts all hell breaks loose.
But it's hard to get people to listen. I can have criticisms but because I own a switch I'm a naive & blind Nintendo adult. So frustrating
@Echo_SEMO@Beto_Daza_I@SerebiiNet Yeah, *sometimes*. The best players are the ones that make that chance as tiny as possible. There's a reason the top cut of tournaments is always the best players, and not Timmy from down the road critting & flinching his way to the top
@thebogbitch@OrangeStar_CO@AndrewGspeedrun I think that might be a result of content creators wanting to play games as fast as possible to be one of the first to get content of it. There's a lot of pressure to just make progress quickly
@4BitsComic@thebogbitch@OrangeStar_CO@AndrewGspeedrun I have a couple friends who love soulslikes but don't care about story or anything, they just want to fight difficult bosses. I do think it's kinda funny when they talk about the game and they're clueless on the lore but hey that's how they have fun and I can't deny that
@jarbqsauce@TrueBurna You say that like you're compromising lol
Swords dance kingambit is crazy strong rn, with some support it becomes an endgame sweeper that just closes out games more consistently than basculegion
@TrendanBrendan@SoberKarl@pasta_at_dawn I think as a battle simulator app single player content isn't what the game is missing. However it is strange that Caraway and Kojima exist and have like 5 minutes of screen time combined. And tbh I wouldn't say no to more content, I just think we shouldn't hold our breaths
@UBoy0208@professorragna They do but it's uncommon, bulky sitrus basc sets were a thing in MA. If you needed sash somewhere else and didn't want to restrict yourself with scarf, bulky basc was a choice
But sucker punch from a huge power max attack mega mawile does like 800% anyways
@AlonsoEHV@PeaceOfYoshi People seem to forget that RNG matters even at the highest level. Especially in weaker formats like MA where you have fewer tools, sometimes you do just need RNG. And that doesn't have to be a bad thing, the game is still skill testing taking this into account
@moemuxhagi@hyxkkimxru I also see the opposite. People claim to love indie games but only look for unicorns that turn into smash hits like hollow knight or Hades. They'll say "it's so difficult to find indie games" when they're looking for the 0.001% occurrences and ignore what's under their nose
@Stafki_GTN@DracovishGlazer A few points in any stat can matter a lot. Speed is obviously crucial but -5 in spatk can be the difference between getting an ohko and not. Especially miraidon which stacks multipliers, that -5 ends up being like -10 or -15
@davidacampos97@imsoarchived@Destiny5619@Imn0tDaredevil That's an absurd amount of work to put in for an uncommon situation that would add nothing to the game. It also probably wouldn't work. "Detect the player doing laps around a table" is more complicated than "detect if the player is hiding in a locker too often"
@HazeToad@Bruneaux I disagree, the meta is still changing. Like we just found whims + glim is good last week. The week before we found shell smash m blastoise is good outside TR. EV spreads also constantly change.
There are fewer Pokémon so there are fewer options but stuff is still changing a lot
@ddee_ssbu@Normalssbbbx I feel like it's because damage output is pretty low and defensive options are scarce. You can't really burst the TR setter so protect + TR is very safe, and without AV or defensive tera even neutral spread damage is overwhelming. Wide guard helps but they have single target too
