#OnThisDay June 27, 2013, Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl launched in Japan for the Nintendo 3DS. Atlus reimagined the original Etrian Odyssey by adding a fully voiced Story Mode, new characters, and expanded gameplay while preserving the series’ signature first-person dungeon crawling and map-making mechanics. Critics praised the improved accessibility, strategic combat, and replay value, though its demanding difficulty still challenged newcomers. It became one of the finest entries in the beloved dungeon RPG series. 🗺️⚔️
#OnThisDay June 26, 1992, Lunar: The Silver Star launched in Japan for the Sega CD, becoming one of the first console RPGs to fully embrace cinematic storytelling. Game Arts combined animated cutscenes, voice acting, and a sweeping fantasy adventure that pushed the CD format far beyond what players expected at the time. Critics praised its memorable characters, music, and presentation, while the random encounters occasionally drew criticism. It went on to become one of the most beloved RPGs of the 16-bit era. 🌙⚔️
My Steam Controller reservation opened up today, but honestly I think I’m going to pass on it. It looks great but $106 for a controller is kind of crazy and it seems to be a bit of a pain to connect to the Steam Deck? I don’t know…

@statesminds@SuperRareGames@ChainedEchoes And that’s where we come back to the getting ripped off from the FPG’s non-existent version. That would have made this purchase a joy, not made it hard to pull the trigger on or have to forgo altogether. Such a shame.
@statesminds@SuperRareGames@ChainedEchoes I ended up going for it. I’ve wanted this game physically for so long (as we all have) and the history/art book is right up my alley. I just have a gut feeling I’m going to love it. So it was worth it, even if it stings because of that — regardless, I totally feel you.
@missmandia A few of my gaming excitements:
Continuing to play Grandia HD Remastered — 27 hours in and starting the Tower of Doom section next!
Highly considering jumping into Xenosaga I soon!
So enjoying going through The Art of Fire Emblem Awakening book! I’m excited for Fortunes Weave!
