The best time to farm perp DEX points might be right now.

And the reason is pretty simple: lower activity usually means lower competition.

Summer is always slow for crypto. People trade less, farm less, get bored faster and start giving up. But this is exactly when point farming can become more interesting.

Since March 1st, monthly perp DEX volume dropped from around $700B to below $500B. On a daily basis, the slowdown is even more obvious: in early April, perp DEXs were doing $25–30B per day, while now it is closer to $10–12B. That is a 2–3x drop in daily activity.

For most people, this looks boring. For farmers, this can be an opportunity.
Fewer active users means less competition for the same points, less noise, and a better chance to build a stronger position before attention comes back.

The key is not to farm everything. Pick a few high-conviction perp DEXs, understand the point math, and focus while others are inactive.

My current focus for this summer: @variational_io, @risextrade and @hibachi_xyz.

Something I genuinely believe but rarely say out loud:

A lot of people in crypto don't have an information problem.

They have an honesty problem.

We keep telling ourselves that the next airdrop, the next narrative, or the next bull run will change everything.

But deep down, most of us already know what we should be doing.

Learning a skill.
Building something useful.
Writing our own ideas.
Taking risks that create value instead of just hunting rewards.
The uncomfortable truth is that it's easier to refresh X all day than to spend six months becoming good at something.
I've watched people spend thousands of hours chasing shortcuts while ignoring opportunities that could have changed their lives permanently.
The market rewards patience far more often than it rewards excitement.

That's probably an unpopular opinion, but it's one I've earned the hard way.
