🇵🇰 In 2015, when Saudi Arabia asked Pakistan for troops, warplanes and warships for its war in Yemen, Pakistan's parliament debated the request for days and unanimously voted to stay neutral, amid broad public opposition.

On Monday, Pakistan agreed to "rapid deployment" of forces to Saudi Arabia under the Makkah defense pact, as fighting with Ansar Allah escalates. No parliamentary debate or vote on the deployment has been reported.

Since 2015, power in Pakistan has shifted sharply toward the military. Army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir was made Chief of Defense Forces and given lifetime legal immunity under a 2025 constitutional amendment, while former Prime Minister Imran Khan, overwhelmingly the most popular figure in the country, remains in prison.

Pakistan's "Long March" for human rights is gaining steam as it steadily proceeds towards the capital

It seems military dictator Asim Munir will have to release pro-democracy leader Imran Khan — or order his regime forces to again attack their own people

Release Imran Khan. It’s ridiculous that he’s even in prison.

All to appease Zionists.

Had Imran Khan been in power, he would never have allowed the Pakistani military to be disgraced and its soldiers turned into mercenaries hired to protect Epstein’s friends.

[Mehlaqa Samdani @MehlaqaCAPJ]

Imran Khan should indeed be released. But @RichardGrenell, you duped many Pakistani-Americans with your tweets last cycle to win votes for your boss. Now, with midterms looming, you're running the same playbook. Hopefully those who voted Republican last time will see through it.

Imran Khan is a War on Terror prisoner of conscience.

Held in solitary confinement for over three years, Imran Khan has faced a relentless campaign by Pakistan's military establishment, working in concert with their Western handlers.

Khan is one of the most prominent political voices in the Muslim world challenging the War on Terror, from condemning drone warfare to being amongst the first to expose the secret detention of Aafia Siddiqui.

Today, we’re calling for his unconditional release.

I’ve been instructed to call on the public not to attempt to march or protest nearby Adiala jail on 27 March. I’ve heard from sources that this may be used as an excuse for the establishment to launch a “counter” assault on the jail (Which my father is being held in), which could endanger his life. Please do not give them any reasons for “accidents” to happen to my father during the protest.

🇵🇰 Murad Saeed is accusing Pakistan's intelligence agencies of something extraordinary:

Outsourcing political repression to the same militants and criminals the state claims to be fighting.

The PTI leader alleges that intelligence personnel, rogue Taliban and hardened criminals are being organized into teams across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to abduct PTI officials and members of the provincial government.

Some, he claims, are being supplied with police and Frontier Corps uniforms. Criminal cases are allegedly being used as leverage to recruit others.

And Saeed says the disappearance of provincial minister Fazal Shakoor is one example of how this system works.

That case is real and deeply strange.

Shakoor was intercepted in broad daylight near the Peshawar motorway. Video shows masked armed men surrounding his vehicle, with one firing at its tyres. His brother subsequently filed a kidnapping case, and the Peshawar High Court has become involved in efforts to locate him.

His accusation is much bigger than another claim of an unlawful arrest.

He is telling PTI to stop viewing the raids, disappearances and alleged abductions as separate events.

They are one connected system.

Very early this morning a submission was made to the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention and copied to the @UN Special Rapporteurs on Freedom of Expression (@Irenekhan), Belief (@NazilaGhanea), and Assembly (@Ginitastar) in relation to the 'preventative detention' of @Aleema_KhanPK the sister of the @ImranKhanPTI who has been seized as the Pakistani Government seeks to prevent a protest march scheduled for 27 September 2026.

Whilst the submission was being drafted, Mrs Khan's sisters and son @KhanShershah were seized along with other family members. Whilst Shershah has now been released, Mrs Khan's sister remain detained unlawfully.

The @UN_SPExperts submission argues that the detention is unlawful because:
** she was detained under the vague provisions of the Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance which are in breach of the Johannesburg Principles on National Security,Freedom of Expression, and Access to Information;
**the law is being applied in an arbitrary manner against someone the Pakistani Government wants to silence rather than a person who pose a genuine danger; and
**that Mrs Khan's detention was ordered by the Government because of her exercise of her right to freedom of expression and assembly and to seek to prevent lawful protest on 27 September 2026 rather from any proper purpose

We call on the international community to speak up in relation to the persecution of Mrs Aleema Khan, Mr Imran Khan and the rest of his family and for the Pakistani authorities to cease their unlawful and shameful persecution.

Thank you, PAKPAC. Everyone must raise their voice against repression and political persecution in Pakistan. Stand for human rights, democracy, justice, and the rule of law.

As Imran Khan’s entire family (including kids) are abducted in Pakistan, a reminder that both @commonwealthsec and @EU_Commission have enabled the military regime at every turn. The @SGCommonwealth suppressed a damning report on the 2024 elections which only became public because of @DropSiteNews. Meanwhile @EUPakistan simply handed over its elections report to the regime that benefited from rigging the election!

The Commonwealth and EU have been silent as the elected prime minister of Pakistan languishes in a death cell, the military rips up the constitution, destroys any notion of judicial independence, outlaws freedom of expression through PECA, and is now collectively punishing Khan’s entire family because of a call to protest.

These “democracy and human rights defending institutions” are not dying because of Trump. They are dying because of their own hypocrisy!

[Kasim Khan @Kasim_Khan_1999]

These are not just any criminals. These are the people in charge of Pakistan.

This is how they’ve abducted my family members. Masked, armed men dragging innocents from their houses and taking them to unknown locations.

Pakistan's deeply unpopular US-backed military dictatorship is a world leader...

in innovative techniques for stifling mass pro-democracy protests

The US govt should not be allowed to provide one more cent in support or training for this brutal regime

[Mario Nawfal @MarioNawfal]

WTF IS GOING ON IN PAKISTAN!

They arrest the former Prime Minister Imran Khan, put him in solitary confinement for years, do the same to his wife, then start arresting his family

And now arrest his sister, who's in her 70s, because she's speaking out in support of her brother! the former PRIME MINISTER!!!

Enough is enough! THE FAMILY HAS BEEN THROUGH ENOUGH!
