We enjoyed meeting the good people from Home-Start Wessex, who told us about their work supporting families with children across #Dorset, now including the west of the county. They train volunteers to befriend familes and support them in all kinds of ways and they're brilliant.
Congratulations to our Lord-Lieutenant's Fund for Young & Talented grantee Harry Stewart on his first place in the multi-classification 100m Breaststroke final at the Aquatics GB Swimming Championships in London this week.
It was great to welcome Poole MP Neil Duncan-Jordan (@NeilForPoole) to our office to hear about our work and projects such as Hidden Dorset, and meet Chair Tom Flood. It was a timely visit as we were able to share news we have awarded £1.9M in grants in the last financial year.
Thanks to the support of our donors, our DCF Bursary Scheme has awarded more than £48k to 89 students this year to help them with the cost of studying a vocational course at college. Since 2014 we've now awarded more than £300k to 565 students.
