Most Bengalis in Bengal - 82% actually, dont know to converse in any other language other than Bengali. This is according to the latest linguistic survey of India. We should make statements based on facts- not opinion & personal experience. State language & English is enough.

I never understand this concept. We Bengalis(most of us) know both English and Hindi. We never ask others to learn Bengali,yet people from other states come here and try to impose Hindi on us, saying, “Humko Bengali nahin aata.”

Hum logon ne bhi Hindi seekhi hai. Humein bhi pehle Hindi nahi aati thi.Our Hindi is broken too,but we still make an effort to speak it. Learning a language takes effort from both sides.
