@potus Sir, please defend the citizens of this country, especially children and the immune compromised, against infectious diseases as winter arrives. Encourage masking and social distancing, and push for sterilizing vaccines. Do more to protect us from Covid.
@kylegriffin1 Really? 'cause we were surely needed in 2020. Don't throw blue Georgians under the bus, particularly after voting rules were changed here to punish us for voting for Biden, Ossoff, and Warnock. We made the difference then.
@BrerRabbit91 I'd be more likely to "admit the flawed reality of my theories" if you'd provide credible sources and back up your vague statements with facts. (I can't wait for you to tell me to do my own research.) ๐คฃ
It's Friday, so I'll let you off the hook. Have a good day.
@BrerRabbit91 Asking you to describe a realistic scenario so I have context is not being "purposely obtuse." Also, I'm not a leftist. You assume a lot about someone you've never met. Finally, at least 40 countries used mail-in ballots pre-pandemic:

@AcedeLaForet IMO, the most frustrating change was #3. Not only did they reduce the request time from 180 days to 78 (less than half) and shorten the return window, drop boxes are now harder to access. Previously, they were 24/7, making it more convenient for shift workers like nurses to vote.
@BrerRabbit91 What sort of coercive threat do you envision that would get enough votes to make a difference in the results? I have difficulty imagining anyone standing over me while I fill out an absentee ballot. How could they do that to enough people to alter outcome without getting caught?
@BrerRabbit91 You could say the same of an in-person vote in terms of not knowing whether the person was paid or pressured to vote a certain way, and there are plenty of security measures. If mail-in ballots didn't exist, overseas military couldn't vote.
Put another way:
In the 10 counties with the highest raw vote decrease, Abrams lost ~93k votes and Kemp *gained* ~20k from 2018
In the 10 counties with highest raw vote increase, Kemp gained ~54k more votes and Abrams gained only ~5k from 2018

@AcedeLaForet If you're interested, here's an article that hits the high points of some of the changes and includes a link to the full 98 pages of election law:

@BelleSereka I also live in Georgia. It's significantly harder to vote absentee now than it was in 2020. Here's an article that hits the high points and includes a link to the full 98 pages of election law.

@BrerRabbit91 The restrictions on absentee voting increased. The time windows to request and return were both decreased.
Additionally, the number of drop boxes was reduced, and those remaining became much harder to access.

@TammyJoRealtor The United States tried permanent DST in 1973. People hated it. They went back to Spring forward / Fall back the next year. To stop flipping back and forth, we need to stay on Standard Time.
