@lawrencehurley FIFA is demoing a new rule in a couple European leagues this year to avoid the hairsplitting: onside if any part of the attacker's body is in line with the last defender. Much easier to measure that. Plus the computers can draw lines quickly with semi-automated offside.
@sf311 there are currently nine double-parked cars blocking traffic and the bike lane on a single block of Golden Gate between Baker and Broderick. This is a huge hazard, especially for a slow street.
@rcmoya84 Mbappe is going to smash international records. He has work to meet Messi's club awards. When Messi was 23, he had won the Champions League twice, UCL top scorer, and Ballon d'Or. PSG needs better management if Mbappe is going to win more individual awards.
@SFist Hey SFist/@ExercisingDrunk - the article incorrectly summarizes the D/E results. Neither are above 50%, and Prop E is behind D. Confusingly, SF reports "No" on top, in green, when it has more votes. Your article also says "Breed-backed Prop E" which is also wrong.
@BrionesSociety Your position of Yes on I and No on J overturns the Board of Supervisors' law and Mayor's Great Highway Adaption Project. How is your position justified by your other statement that this should not "be locked in by the voters rather than decided by the Board of Supervisors"?
@JayNDonde @ZacAKAMadu @PeterMoskos Don't agree with that either. Bork confirmation wasn't some Rubicon. For the two nominees immediately after Bork, Democratic senates confirmed the Republican president's picks with 90+ votes.
Amadeo sent a selfie from the marigold fields in Oxnard CA. "It’s an honor to pick these flowers as this is how I honor loved one that have passed before me, by placing marigolds on their altars." He will earn minimum wage for his labor of love. #WeFeedYou#DiaDeLosMuertos
@RuncieDan Back in the before times, it was pretty cool to have people over to the apartment, hand them a couple of physical LPS, and say "You get to DJ tonight."
@JayNDonde The question isn't whether a higher minimum wage causes underemployment or unemployment. It's whether minimum wage is a more efficient transfer of wealth than other levers. I know EITC is one of the more efficient ones. I assume there are studies quantifying UBI and min wage.
@annarchyy I guess your question is why doesn't the Chronicle or LA Times have the national readership of the NYT/WSJ/WaPo? I dunno. There are like billion ways for journalists to distribute good news now. Don't see why it all needs to be consolidated in these legacy media companies.
@annarchyy But "local media" is archaic in tech journalism. Ars/Wired/Verge are digital-first sites with distributed journalists. They write good stories and break big news on a national scale. They have the gravitas.
