@GirlOnAnIsland Excellent share @GirlOnAnIsland, My great grandfather, Lemuel Winsor, was born in Tilt Cove, worked in the mines at a very young age, and married there but moved back and forth between Nfld. and the USA following the work and raising his family. Thanks for sharing this video.
Thank you to the Holy Heart of Mary Chamber Choir for this beautiful gift of music this morning. I hope it makes your day a little brighter and helps you feel the love. #bemybubbletine https://t.co/JYx4RB1LSB
@GahsYQX@markcritch Excellent movie! Only thing missing was the RCAF Streamliners band with vocalist George Lane, while they were stationed in Gander before going overseas in 1944. That would have been a plus. They were really good.
@robmbrady @jeffhutcheson @markcritch Me too Robert! That was huge! The documentary only covered parts of the story. One of my buddies’ father, Cam Ritchie, was the station manager for a number of years in the 60’s.
@jeffhutcheson @markcritch Jeff I grew up with the ‘Big 8’ in my ears! Remembering it was the go to station for (deep voice here) “the Motown Sound of C-K-L-W!” I remember Byron MacGregor too. That Canadian station was more popular than the Detroit stations.
