Gabe Emmett is the Cal League Pitcher of the Month.

Emmett went 1-1 with a 1.29 ERA in four appearances. He allowed three earned runs on nine hits over 21.0 innings. He held opponents to a .136 average and started the month with a five inning, no-hit start June 2 against IE.

And baseball is a game of failure and is a team sport but for some moments you can be selfish and live in your success you don’t want to share it with anyone but yourself so you want the ball which is why he went back out. He’s their guy and held it down for his team.

A lot of people talking about Quinn Mathews performance in game 2 and how his coaches were being irresponsible by letting him go 156 pitch cg when they were up by 5 runs. As a player you compete and grind your heart out every day in the fall and spring for moments like that.
