Jim Valvano taught us to enjoy life and to cherish every moment.
As we continue this journey, we’re reminded that the Stanley Cup Final is about more than hockey. It’s about people, purpose, sacrifice, and appreciating the moments that bring us together.
The world will try to make sin look normal and righteousness look strange. Believer or not, every single person on earth will soon have an appointment before Jesus. So if living for Christ makes us look crazy or "weird", that's okay because it isn't strange to Christ. When it’s all said and done, we’ll give an account to an audience of One. (Romans 14:12, 2 Cor. 5:10)
“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness…” Isaiah 5:20
Fanatics didn’t con the NFL. They are in cahoots to con the fans together.
Fanatics willingly takes on the role of punching bag, so the NFL gets to say “Don’t blame us, we don’t make the jerseys,” while laughing all the way to the bank. That’s a core feature of their business arrangement, not a bug.
Notice how the Fanatics website has no customer reviews. That’s the giveaway. They are not accountable to the fans. Because they don’t have to be. They have a monopoly.
Their real customer is not the fans who buy the jerseys, but the league that sells them the exclusive license.
So direct your anger at Roger Goddell, not Fanatics. Without the exclusive license, Fanatics has nothing. With the license, they can rip off the fans to their heart’s delight.
It’s right there in the name: “Fanatics.” It shows you what Rubin and the NFL thinks of us. Crazed suckers who love their team to the point of paying $160 for a jersey with misaligned, screen printed numbers.
Our hearts are with the families, friends, and teammates of JJ Wright, Cameron Casorso, and Caden Fine of the Southern Alberta Mustangs.
Three young lives taken far too soon.
