@Headteacherchat Whilst the HT may be the conductor of the orchestra, they are part of the team, and every team member is essential and needs 'looking after', as they carry out their role!
Ahh. We don't scrub up so badly! Thank you @BrewoodSingerss. We hope to see you again soon! Looking forward to @MidsCOTY later today. Good look all participants. Here's to another joyous evening!
This is a societal problem that cannot be resolved by schools alone. How much importance/resource has the incumbent government placed upon resolving persistent absence? Rhetoric alone? Is it writ large in party manifestos? Anyone bothered? Just blame schools -it's easier!
Can someone read this and explain why OFSTED are blaming the school/teachers/teaching for attendance issues here? This inspector comment made me laugh: "Some teachers did not routinely address the subsequent gaps in their knowledge... these pupils can struggle to access the new learning that is being taught" - er yeah, have you ever taught classes where loads of students are continually absent/in/out!? https://t.co/PtY4mwQySh
Currently in the Alsace. It's been a delight to see several l'école primaries out and about doing fieldwork. Clipboards and excited enthusiam in abundance @The_GA ! Let's get our children out there invigorating their learning!
It is so interesting to note the lack of 'education' within pre-election political debates. I wonder if that is a good or bad thing? Shouldn't it be on the agenda at all times?
