@FootballCliches Adjudication panel - I work for a church as a children and youth worker. Planning to teach a Bible story and come across an excellent bit of both in the wild.

Not having ‘they are banging, quite literally, on the Brentford door’, for someone hitting the post. Always thought of ‘the door’ as a figurative idea, and banging at it was applying lots of pressure. Is the goal/post the door?
@FootballCliches Had ‘Southgate is his own harshest critic’. If so, he must have written some terrible things about himself on Twitter. Is this ever true for a manager?
@FootballCliches TAA came off in the 69th minute. Shearer, on co-comms, said: ‘He’s done well in there, Trent. Certainly in that first 30-35 minutes’
If someone only plays well for 30 out of 69 minutes, have they qualified for such praise as ‘he’s done well in there?’.
@FootballCliches (70:22-34), Kane brought down a long ball, & comms said, ‘Kane, nicely collected.’ He was fouled, and comms he’d ‘BEEN nicely collected there.’
Can someone who’s fouled have been NICELY COLLECTED? Doesn’t seem right. And even if you could, it sasnt an impressive enough foul.
