Sending messages in the UK via MeshCore is getting hit-and-miss. A reduction in repeater flood adverts will help! Going forward, getting firmware updates in place will pave the way for new feature adoption.

@SteveTrewick I remember when I was trekking in the Brecon Beacons and was tempted to fill my water bottle from a stream, only to find a bit further on that the water was passing through a rotting sheep carcass - glad I didn't!
Some say fast flowing water is safe to drink - I never trust it when hiking/camping as there's nothing worse than shitting through the eye of a needle, especially when in remote locations!

@Hoshnasi The current situation is disappointing and waiting to hear Andy's side of the story, which will hopefully be forthcoming. Andy's videos have played a big role in the uptake of MeshCore in the UK and beyond (including the successful roll-out of the narrow bandwidth settings).
@procurementfile Also another 2m extra funding recently announced by Bristol City Council for a council housing IT project, bringing the anticipated project total to Β£10.75m (up from an original budget of 7.5m).
Broadband went down, so I deployed my 3G/4G MiFi/Hotspot to restore some connectivity - back a few years, I used this as our full time connection with circa 15Mbps download via 3G. In 2026, 3G is gone and I now get 4Mbps via 4G as well as flaky calls. Connectivity like it's 1999!
@SBarrettBar When my current tenant leaves, I'll put the property up for sale (very likely to become a non-rental) or go Air B&B. Perhaps this is actually what the Govt. want, so they can buy up rental properties cheap and turn them into accommodation for migrants etc. and clear the hotels.
@davidbombal I'm rebuilding my physical media collection from scratch having had to give away a most of it during a property downsize. Picking up CDs, DVDs and Blu-Ray disks from charity shops etc. Ripping them to a local DLNA server, but retaining the disks. Prep for incoming troubles.
Absolute joke of a sentence - 4 times over the limit and could have wiped out a load of innocent people. Gets a 2-year driving ban and a small fine!

MeshCore off-grid messaging really coming alive, especially after the switch to narrow 62.5 bandwidth. Some nodes on the map appeared during a lift, but we do have great comms 24/7 around S.W and up to the Midlands now!
In addition - if it actually gets past the public hostility phase, the costs of the roll-out will spiral, be delayed and ultimately cancelled, having cost billions. If by some sort of miracle it did happen, it will be hacked at some point.
Regarding the ID card plan - I'm not totally adverse to beefing-up the existing NI Numbercard a bit BUT, no doubt, the Govt. will want to store all manner of personal info in order to track every move we make. Likely the start of a slippery slope to us all getting microchipped.
MeshCore news! - Andy Kirby video explains how to change settings to EU/UK (narrow)
(working well around Bristol and South Wales so far!)

MeshCore off-grid messaging in the UK going over to EU/UK (Narrow) preset at least for a trial period!
The actual radio settings are: 869.618 MHz Bandwidth: 62.5 KHz Spreading Factor: 8 Coding Rate: 8
