Wow, I just calculated I will save $7,263 in gasoline and maintenance costs over my ICE truck this year 😳

In 10 months of driving my Lightning Flash I’ve put 14,000 miles on it, or 16,800 in a calendar year. A little less than half of that is towing mileage (0.9mi/kWh) and the rest getting 2.1mi/kWh.

In 8 months of owning my 3, I’ve put 8,000 miles on it, or 12,000 on a calendar year. I’m averaging about 240Wh/mi.

Given this mileage, I would have spent $7,590 in gasoline (8mpg towing, 16mpg other), $578 in oil changes, and $500 in repairs (low estimate).

I ONLY spent $1,405 in electricity ($0.11/kWh, 1500kWh’s free at hotels / campgrounds).

Saving 7 G’s while driving a much more enjoyable vehicle is bonkers.
