Back in the 1970's heatwave, an old TDF rider told us that they put cabbage leaves under their hat to keep cool - it did feel like it made a difference. Apparently it was a chemical reaction with sweat. Has the team ever done strange things to keep cool? #eurosport
@AdamBlythe89 the mat can be quicker if "laminar flow" sets up which is slipper than gloss but it needs the right air density and speed of the object through it. It is the same process that causes reverse swing in cricket.
@carltonkirby@daniellloyd1@robhatch @eurosport In the 60's and 70's they put cabbage leaves under their hats so the chemical reaction kept them cool. Why don't they do that now?
@daniellloyd1 don't forget that there is atmospheric winds (in the forecast) added to the afternoon sea breeze, created by warm land and cold water, that can be strong and make a difference
Beware Lidl parking charges. My wife had a long shopping list. Enentually she'd found everything, queued upto pay, packed £170+ into bags, put it all in the car and had a drink of the smoothy she'd bought she drove home. Today we got a £90 parking fine for 10 minutes over. #lidl
