Today, on Women Veterans Day, we honor the generations of women who have answered the call to serve our nation.
From the Rosie the Riveters who stepped into critical wartime roles during World War II to the women serving in uniform today, their courage, determination, and dedication have helped shape our military and our country.
The Rosies proved that women could do any job asked of them in a time of need, helping power the war effort and opening doors for future generations of women to serve. Their legacy lives on in the countless women who have followed in their footsteps, breaking barriers and continuing a proud tradition of service.
Today and every day, we are grateful for the women who paved the way and those who continue to carry that legacy forward.
Before there was the Gary Sinise Foundation, there was the Lt. Dan Band. 🎸🇺🇸
On next week's episode of the Gary Sinise Foundation Podcast, married couple Mari Anne Jayme, Lt. Dan Band vocalist, and James Stuckmann, Tour & Production Manager and Rhythm Guitarist, reflect on their years with the band and the incredible journey they've shared together.
What started as a group of friends coming together to play for our military has grown into a mission that has touched countless service members, veterans, first responders, and their families around the world. From military bases to Walt Disney World and even virtual performances during the pandemic, the Lt. Dan Band has continued to bring honor, gratitude, and rock 'n' roll to those who serve.

Mac Sinise Resurrection & Revival: Part 3 is available NOW!
Just recently, we had the opportunity to host a special listening party, bringing together many of the talented musicians, family members, and collaborators who helped make this album possible. It was a truly meaningful evening as we gathered to hear some of the music, view some of the new videos and celebrate the music and legacy of Mac Sinise.
Executive Produced by Gary Sinise and featuring a moving collection of music written by his late son, Mac Sinise, in partnership with many of his pals, this album is a heartfelt tribute to Mac's creativity, passion, and enduring spirit. Many of the songs began as melodies and musical ideas Mac recorded and saved over the years. With the help of family, friends, and talented collaborators, those pieces were brought to life and transformed into the album you can hear today.
Even more meaningful, 100% of album sales benefit the Gary Sinise Foundation and our mission to serve our nation's defenders, veterans, first responders, and their families - just as Mac wanted.

This month, the Gary Sinise Foundation is celebrating 15 years of serving our nation's heroes and their families! 🎉 To mark the occasion, we're taking a look back at some of the moments that helped shape our journey through a special #ThrowbackThursday series.
We're kicking things off where it all began: in 2011, when @GarySinise announced the creation of the Gary Sinise Foundation at the National Press Club. What started as a commitment to support those who serve and sacrifice has grown into 15 years of service to our nation's defenders and their loved ones.
Join us as we celebrate the people, programs, and moments that made the last 15 years possible. 💙
This #WarriorWednesday we honor U.S. Army Captain and GSF specially adapted smart home recipient Derick Carver, whose life changed forever on January 19, 2010, when he was critically wounded during an ambush in Afghanistan's Arghandab River Valley while helping secure a school threatened by the Taliban.
Derick lost his left leg and suffered severe injuries that required nearly 50 surgeries during a 13-month recovery at Walter Reed. Despite those challenges, he returned to active duty as a Ranger instructor before retiring in 2012.
In 2022, we were honored to present Derick with a mortgage-free specially adapted smart home, made possible by the Gary Sinise Foundation and the generosity of the American people. Designed to meet his unique mobility needs, the home provides greater independence, accessibility, and comfort as he continues to pursue his passions and inspire others through his remarkable resilience.

This #MedalofHonorMonday we recognize Master Sergeant Leroy A. Petry who displayed extraordinary courage during combat operations in Paktya Province, Afghanistan.
After being wounded while under enemy fire, Petry continued leading and protecting his fellow Rangers. When an enemy grenade landed just feet away from his team, he acted without hesitation, picking it up and throwing it away to shield those beside him. The grenade detonated as it left his hand, amputating his right hand and causing additional severe injuries.
Despite his wounds, Petry immediately applied a tourniquet, coordinated support by radio, and continued caring for his fellow Rangers. His selfless actions undoubtedly saved lives and reflected extraordinary bravery, sacrifice, and devotion to others. Today, we salute you.
On behalf of our founder, Gary Sinise, and the entire Gary Sinise Foundation family, we are absolutely heartbroken by the devastating loss of U.S. Marine Corps veteran and third-generation Boston firefighter Robert Kilduff Jr. - “BK,” as he was affectionately known by the team and by so many of our families of fallen heroes.
When the Gary Sinise Foundation expanded its Snowball Express healing experience in 2023 to include the families of fallen first responders, BK immediately stepped forward to serve. He poured his heart into volunteering and even created one of its impactful elements: the First Responder Patch Wall.
What began with patches from BK’s personal collection quickly grew into a powerful tribute honoring fallen heroes from across the country. BK personally contacted departments whose families were attending Snowball Express to ensure their loved one’s patch would be represented. If a department was unable to donate a patch, BK quietly and selflessly purchased it himself.
That was BK - one of the most selfless public servants you could ever hope to meet. A man who dedicated his life to serving others, his community, and his country.
Rest in peace, BK. We love you.
Each year, we bring families of our fallen heroes to Washington, D.C. for a time of remembrance, reflection, and community. Together, families visit their loved ones at Arlington National Cemetery, take part in the National Memorial Day Parade, and honor the lives and legacies of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Today and every day, we remember those we have lost, and stand beside the families who carry their legacy forward.
Today, on National Maritime Day, we honor the courageous men and women of the United States Merchant Marines.
For generations, Merchant Mariners have played a critical role in supporting our nation - transporting troops, supplies, and resources across dangerous waters during times of war and peace. Their service and sacrifice has helped sustain both our military and our country through some of history’s most challenging moments.
We are grateful for the enduring legacy of the U.S. Merchant Marines and all who continue to serve. ⚓🇺🇸
Memorial Day is more than a long weekend for families carrying loss.
For Michele Davis, Memorial Day is a reminder that freedom came at a cost - and that remembrance matters long after the celebrations end.
Twenty years after losing her husband, First Lieutenant Jason W. Davis, Michele reflects on grief, healing, raising a son while carrying loss, and the community that reminded her family they were never alone.

This #MedalOfHonorMonday we honor Sergeant Major Thomas P. Payne who displayed extraordinary courage during a hostage rescue mission in Kirkuk Province, Iraq, on October 22, 2015.
As enemy fire erupted and a building holding dozens of hostages became engulfed in flames, Payne repeatedly entered the burning structure under intense gunfire to help free those trapped inside. Despite collapsing conditions, smoke, and flames, he continued returning to the building to cut through locks, evacuate hostages, and ensure no one was left behind, ultimately saving 75 hostages.
Sergeant Major Payne’s selfless bravery and unwavering devotion to others reflect the very highest traditions of military service. Today, we salute you. 🇺🇸
Today, on Armed Forces Day, we honor the men and women currently serving in every branch of the United States military.
Around the world and here at home, our service members continue to answer the call with courage, dedication, and sacrifice. We are deeply grateful for all they do to protect our freedoms and defend our nation.
To all who serve, thank you from a grateful nation. 🇺🇸
Today, on Peace Officers Memorial Day, we honor the courageous law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
We remember their bravery, dedication, and unwavering commitment to protecting others, and we stand with the families, friends, and fellow officers who carry their legacy forward.
Their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸
