It was a pleasure to welcome convention attendees and organizers with American Council of the Blind for an afternoon at Gateway Arch National Park. They experienced the iconic Tram Ride to the Top and a showing of the “Monument to the Dream” documentary.

Did you know that I usually am struck by lightning multiple times each year? I was built with a series of lightning rods on top which are grounded directly into bedrock.

On July 14, 1964, Percy Green climbed me.

It became one of the most visible moments tied to the civil rights era in St. Louis, drawing attention to questions of access and opportunity in the city. His climb is included in the 200+ years of St. Louis inside the free Museum under @gatewayarchnps. 

I'll never forget historic moments like that. They're part of the view, too!

Look who came back to take a Tram Ride to the Top! It's Brad & Grandma Joy, who at 93-years-old became the oldest person in the world to visit all 63 U.S. National Parks after first visiting @gatewayarchnps in 2019.

Now they have a book out about their adventures and there are a limited number of signed copies for sale in the Arch Store!

It's officially been 8 years since my grand reopening!

On July 3, 2018, Ozzie Smith helped cut the ribbon on my new front door after a $380-million transformation. I had a new entrance, a park over the highway that connected me to downtown, more than five miles of paths to explore, and a brand-new FREE museum beneath me.

I'd love to celebrate by seeing you this holiday weekend as I'll be open for normal summer hours!
