“Renaming PCOS to PMOS (Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome) shifts our perspective, from a mere ovarian condition to a woman’s whole-body metabolic health concern.”

🚨 New FIGO guidance on preventing post-caesarean sepsis
Post-caesarean sepsis is a leading cause of maternal mortality, with infection rates as high as 20% globally.
The new review in the @IJGOLive, provides evidence-based strategies to prevent these infections – including antibiotics 30–60 mins before surgery, vaginal & skin antiseptic prep, safe surgical practices, like glove changes after placental delivery and early recognition and rapid treatment to save lives.
🌍 With 75,000 maternal deaths annually linked to sepsis, implementing these practices is critical.

@iiscbangalore I have been promoting shifting to eco-friendly options as far as possible especially for Menstrual cups and reusable pads.Every household has women who use at least 15 pads per month which takes 500 years to decompose ,small.changes can make huge benefits
@lregan7 True this, and in India menstrual cycle is also linked with myths and women don't speak openly about it. Nasik obgyns ,we are doing a project,FEM to ask women to correct their ideas and accept hygiene & eco-friendly options and seek help for issues at the earliest
FEM project,as President Nashik Obgy Society on #menstrual hygiene health & eco-friendly options ,did training for nurses from urban health mission and donated #menstrualcups to them. More efforts needed to make it Pan india for #climateprotection@PMOIndia
@smritiirani Menstrual cycle is a normal phenomenon, society needs to be open to talk about it,myths busted, hygeine stressed upon, eco-friendly choices offered, reusable pads, cups.Nasik Obgy Society is working towards it through FEM project, happy to share
Nashik Obgyn Society social awareness run Samanta for #genderequality Thanks to #fogsi President Dr. Hrishikesh Pai for this initiative and the doctors ,law college students and nursing students who actively participated to spread this message.
The Nashik Obstetrics &Gynaecolgy Society with #ThePCOS_India and @MirchiBhushan#Radiomirchi are celebrating #PCOS awareness month this September to promote healthy habits and smart choices as the PCOS winner lifestyle
@DrRonaldMa1 @LionaCPoon Very important tool indeed, can we have #PCOS listed as one of the red flags as well since the cardiometabolic risks are high with them, the recent guidelines also endorse it now
@HRPresearch@ChandraMouliWHO True, recently as the President of the Nasik Obgy Society we had organised a drama on male sexuality and adolescents for doctors and the publc and we realised the society is not open to this subject ,mindsets are so rigid,so much work to be done before we see gender equality
