NOTICE TO ALL GAUTENG LIQUOR LICENCE HOLDERS, APPLICANTS AND STAKEHOLDERS
The Gauteng Department of Economic Development wishes to inform all liquor licence holders, prospective applicants and industry stakeholders that the Gauteng Liquor Amendment Regulations, 2026, have been published in the Provincial Gazette.
The amended Regulations provide for the revision of prescribed fees for liquor licensing services, including applications for new licences, licence issuance, licence renewals, licence transfers, and other services administered by the Gauteng Liquor Board.
All applicants and licence holders are advised to familiarise themselves with the amended fee schedule and ensure that the correct fees are paid when submitting applications or requesting any liquor licensing service.
The Gauteng Liquor Board remains committed to delivering an efficient, transparent and well-regulated liquor licensing system that supports compliance and responsible trading across the province.

Today, the Gauteng Department of Economic Development successfully hosted a financial literacy workshop in partnership with First National Bank (FNB).
The half-day workshop brought together 50 MSME owners to strengthen their financial knowledge and equip them with practical skills to better manage, grow and sustain their businesses.
Financial literacy is a critical building block for business success. By empowering entrepreneurs with the right knowledge, we are helping to build stronger, more sustainable businesses that contribute to Gauteng's economic growth.

The Gauteng Liquor Board (GLB) is warning members of the public and liquor licence applicants to remain vigilant against individuals falsely claiming to represent the GLB.
❌ Do NOT pay anyone who promises to "assist" or "fast-track" your liquor licence application in exchange for money. All official application processes and prescribed fees are communicated only through formal GLB channels.
If you receive suspicious payment requests or are approached by anyone claiming to represent the GLB:
📌 Keep all evidence, including WhatsApp messages, emails, SMSs, bank details and screenshots.
📌 Record the names and contact details of those involved.
📌 Report the matter immediately.

Qondis’ Ishishini Lakho in KwaZenzele, Springs
The residents of the small semi-rural community of KwaZenzele in Vischkuil near Springs, attended the Qondis’ Ishishini Lakho/ Fix Your Business outreach programme, hosted by the Gauteng Office of Consumer Affairs.
The residents were empowered with information on consumer rights, business compliance, financial literacy, and access to government services. Inspectors from the Consumer Protection office also conducted inspections of the local spaza shops, whereupon some shop owners were advised to remove unlabelled and unbarcoded food items from the shelves to comply with health and consumer regulations.
Consumer are encouraged to contact the Office of Consumer Affairs to report any compliance issue and ascertain assistance on any retail issues they may have.

Gauteng Hosts Market Access Expansion Workshops For Entrepreneurs
The department in collaboration with the National Department of Small Business Development hosted the first in a series of workshops aimed at assisting entrepreneurs and MSMEs in the manufacturing sector to navigate and penetrate the domestic retail and wholesale markets with their products.
The workshops also aim to educate small enterprises on the industry standards and compliance requirements for commercially ready goods and services through the standards authority, SABS. The workshops also partner with other partners including the SABS, the NRCS, Proudly SA and Clicks.
