The Media and US Soccer “analysts” are the ones that pushed the narrative of his superiority in the game and in the USMNT history of players building the allure that he is much better than he is in reality. Sure he has played well at times, those times being more than a half decade ago but the media and talking heads were beginning to tout him at that time assuming he would progress on a upward trending level when in reality his peak had already been achieved. People are still thinking he is in that time frame of 6-10 years ago when they were first introduced to him and told he was going to be the best player ever out of the United States, this whole situation is all because of those who built him up back then an people realizing now he just isn’t a top tier player
