“God Has Sent Me to Tell the People of the South-East That Pres. Tinubu Has Good Intentions for Them” — Min. of Works David Umahi
Minister of Works, David Umahi, has said President Bola Tinubu is committed to integrating the South-East into the Federal Government’s development agenda, urging residents of the region to look beyond political sentiments and recognise ongoing projects.
Umahi stated this while highlighting infrastructure projects being executed by the Federal Government in the region.
He said he had faced criticism for speaking in support of the administration but remained convinced that he was sent by God to deliver the message to the people.
“For the first time, we are remembered, and I ask the guy South-East, because sometimes I said listen, our people should not be sentimental. And that’s why they ins¥lt me. And I enjoy the ins¥lt,” Umahi said.
He added, “Because tomorrow, they will find out that, you know, God sent me at a time like this, to tell the truth. The President has good intention to integrate the people of South-East.”
According to the minister, the projects being executed in the region demonstrate the President’s intention to ensure its inclusion in national development.
“And I have to be very honest with you. If I am not the minister for South-East, we wouldn’t be able to get the projects we are getting. And so, it’s an intention by Mr president; ‘Go and right the wrongs of the South-East’,” he said.
