This is total madness from another unaccountable quango. The government must overrule Natural England and stop it immediately.
Keir Starmer is on his way to making his last acts in office the shameful underfunding of our military and the mass slaughter of Dartmoor ponies.
Exclusive from @oliver_wright
Dartmoor ponies could be subject to mass culling to reduce the impact on biodiversity after a controversial ruling by the government’s environmental quango
Natural England has demanded that all livestock grazing on the moor is reduced by about 75 per cent to protect other habitats, plants and species
The move looks set to result in the culling of up to nine in ten of the semi-wild ponies as farmers prioritise their own cattle and sheep to remain within Natural England’s limit to minimise the impact on their own livelihoods
Natural England argued that the move was necessary to protect the diversity of Dartmoor, which is a designated site of special scientific interest
However, the plan goes against a government commissioned review into the future of Dartmoor, published two years ago, which concluded that Natural England “should not take actions likely to result in a reduction in pony numbers”, adding they were “invaluable for conservation grazing”
The move has led to claims that the quango is acting as judge, jury and executioner of the ponies — a species which is itself seen as endangered
Dartmoor ponies could be put to death under biodiversity plans

'They're putting this down to human error. I think it's more about a cover-up.'
Marlon West, father of a grooming gang victim, reacts as eight closed grooming gang cases are referred back to police forces for reinvestigation, saying he doesn't have faith justice will be served.
🏇 Today marks the start of 2026 Royal Ascot, and we are proud to once again be part of this iconic event.
This Friday, 19th June, the Army Benevolent Fund will join forces with the @RNRMC and the @RAFBF for a joint tri-service charity collection. Together, we will be raising awareness and vital support for serving personnel, veterans, and their families.
Keep an eye out for our teams around the racecourse, and if you are attending, come and say hello and show your support!
We are hugely grateful to Ascot Racecourse for their continued support, and to all those who help us stand alongside our Armed Forces community for life.

No veteran who served their country should ever be left sleeping rough, forgotten, or feeling betrayed by the very nation they risked everything to protect.
Our veterans answered the call when their country needed them. The least we can do is answer theirs when they need us. 🇬🇧
🚨THIS IS JUDGE LORD JUSTICE TIMOTHY HOLROYDE
This is the judge who REFUSED Lucy Connolly her appeal after she was convicted for a social media post.
Meanwhile this very same judge CUT the sentence of Labour's Lord Ahmed by THREE YEARS after he was convicted of child sex offences. His sentence was reduced to just two and a half years from five and half years.

“To protect farmers and our rural communities.”
Farmers committed suicide because of your inheritance tax raid, families devastated by your policy.
Now you have the brass neck to claim you care about them, utterly shameless.

🚨 THEY CAN'T CONTROL THE BORDERS. BUT THEY CAN CONTROL YOU.
The government cannot stop the boats.
Cannot stop the hotels filling up.
Cannot stop the public anger.
Cannot stop the protests spreading from city to city.
But it can ban social media.
Interesting.
Because when governments begin losing control of events, they often become increasingly interested in controlling information.
Millions of people are worried about immigration.
Worried about crime.
Worried about the future of the country.
Yet instead of addressing the concerns driving that anger, the political class appears increasingly focused on regulating what people can see, hear and say online.
The public is beginning to ask a simple question:
Why is controlling access to information suddenly more urgent than controlling Britain's borders?
That question is not going away.
In fact, it is getting louder by the day.
If you don’t want your legacy to be war, stop fighting yourselves and prepare the UK to fight our enemies.

When my generation were young, it never occurred to us, it never entered our heads, to criticise or resent our nans and granddads getting a decent state pension.
We knew old people couldn't work, they'd done their bit and one day it'd be our turn.
We loved our nans and granddads and only wished them well.
Funny how young people have changed isn't it.
As a new Farmer myself who bought our farm 4 years ago, I can’t tell you how accurate Clarkson’s Farm actually is!
We spent £3.5m buying our farm and subsequently in the past 4 years we’ve had to spend at least £527,000 on farm machinery and much, much more on running the farm. We’ve lost money every year since so far, and have had challenges or refusal from local authorities everytime we’ve tried to diversity, or do something to generate extra income. I cannot stress how difficult it is for farmers who have to rely on farming for their only income.
We don’t get any subsidies or BPS payments at all (because we’re new farmers) and the grant system might as well be in Greek! As a CEO and professional businessman of some note, I felt I could easily apply for the grants myself. I kid you not, you’ve never seen a more complicated form - for ANYTHING!
The farm we bought had been in the same family for 3 generations, but it was sold because it was getting tougher to support the farmers growing family and now I’ve been in it for 4 years I can see why.
It’s a crying shame that more and more food is going to be imported and more skills lost because, for some unknown reason, the government obviously don’t value farmers. Sad.
"Who can we tax in order to pay benefits to others?"
According to Labour's Welfare Secretary, that's the question that Labour MPs always ask.
Whoever's in charge, and whatever the issue, hardworking people are still going to end up worse off. The problem is Labour MPs.
Fearless British TV presenter Alex Phillips unleashed on Prime Minister Keir Starmer after a 17-year-old was stabbed in the neck in Brierfield, Lancashire:
“How many more stabbings and rapes before you actually do something?!”
This is the brutal reality of Britain under Starmer.
Enough is enough.
Britain must immediately deport all illegal immigrants. France is not a war zone. These people are not refugees — they are economic migrants seeking benefits, not asylum.
Keir Starmer directed our Armed Forces to intercept an Oil Tanker in the English Channel this morning & was successful.
This shows & tells us Keir Starmer could stop the small boats if he wanted to but it he just doesn’t want to.
We are being lied to on a massive scale.
