This touched me so deeply.

My Palestinian friend Othman sent me this photo of his cousins holding my picture. They're holding it because I've been helping them however I can during this devastating time.

I also apologized sincerely for what my country did to them. Othman told me, " I care for you, because you stand against injustice and love fairness." My apology meant a lot to him.

Othman's family has been shattered by this war. His elderly mother was injured. His young cousins - just children - were killed. Yet when I offered to help get warm clothes for Mahmoud, Othman told me "He will cry with joy."

Despite everything they've endured, despite all the loss and suffering, they don't hate me. They don't hate Jews. They just want their pain acknowledged and some help.
