The people of Ethiopia are an extraordinary and remarkable people. Other than the Creator, who can truly know and assess our people in their entirety? Through this year’s election, Ethiopians have once again shown the world that they are a people with a rich culture, deep patriotism, and the ability to safeguard the common good.

On this historic day:

* Citizens who were not intimidated by the cold and darkness of the night,
* Who were not deterred by the midday sun or sudden rain,
* Whom weddings, funerals, childbirth, and other social obligations did not prevent from participating,
* Who were not wearied by long lines,
* Whose physical disabilities did not stop them from casting their vote,
* Those whose illness and old age did not prevent from witnessing the hope of their country,
* Who were not exhausted by carrying their infant children; the future inheritors of the nation,
* And above all, whom the shouting and threats of enemies could not intimidate or stop;

The perseverance you demonstrated amid many challenges and hardships, against all odds, was a contribution made for democracy and for the very survival of the nation. For this, you deserve heartfelt gratitude.

It is a privilege to serve such a people. Therefore, may those who have been elected honor the trust placed in them and serve this people, with integrity and sincerity! A people who have paid a great price for the democratic system. May you be worthy of that responsibility.

Laureate Afewerk Tekle firmly believed that Ethiopia’s dignity, rich history, and cultural heritage should be sources of pride and confidence, not feelings of inferiority. Ethiopia has officially entered the top 10 global Bitcoin mining nations, rising to 8th place with approximately 2.6–2.7% of the global hashrate.

The country's mining capacity surged from 12 EH/s to 27.5 EH/s over the past year, a 129% increase. This growth is largely fueled by surplus hydroelectric power from the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).

አንጋፋው ፖለቲከኛ አቶ ሌንጮ ለታ

ለዘመናት በቀይ ባሕር ላይ ግርማ ሞገስ የነበራትና የባሕር ኃይሏም የቀጣናው ዘብ የነበረችው ኢትዮጵያ፣ ዛሬ የባሕር በር አልባ መሆኗ ብሔራዊ ቁጭት ሆኖ ቆይቷል።

ይህ ሁኔታ በአጋጣሚ የተከሰተ ሳይሆን፣ ኢትዮጵያ በቀጣናው ያላትን ስልታዊ የበላይነት ለመስበር የተደረገ የረዥም ዘመን የጂኦፖለቲካዊ ሴራ ውጤት መሆኑን የታሪክ ድርሳናት ያመለክታሉ።

በአሁኑ ወ��ት ይህ ቁጭት ወደ አዲስ ብሔራዊ ወኔ በመቀየር፣ ሀገራችን በሰላማዊ መንገድ የባሕር በር ባለቤት ለመሆን የምታደርገው ጥረት የህልውናዋ መሠረት እየሆነ መጥቷል።

አንጋፋው ፖለቲከኛ አቶ ሌንጮ ለታ ኢትዮጵያ የባሕር በር እንድታጣ የተደረገበትን ሂደት ሲያብራሩ፤ የኤርትራ ነፃ አገር መሆንን ተከትሎ ድንበር ሲካለል ኢትዮጵያ የባሕር በር እንዳይኖራት ታስቦበት የተሰራ ሴራ መሆኑን ያስታውሳሉ።

በወቅቱ ኢትዮጵያን ይመራ በነበረው መንግሥት ውሳኔ መሠረት መፈጸሙ፣ ሀገራችን በገዛ ደጇ ላይ እንደ ባዕድ ተመልካች አድርጓታል። ይህም በሚሊዮኖች ልብ ውስጥ ጥልቅ ቁጭት ፈጥሮ ማለፉን አቶ ሌንጮ ይገልጻሉ።

የባሕር በር አልባ መሆን ከታሪክ ቁጭት ባለፈ፣ በየዓመቱ ለቢሊዮኖች ዶላር የውጭ ምንዛሬ ወጪ በመዳረግ በኢትዮጵያ ላይ ከፍተኛ የኢኮኖሚ ጫና ፈጥሯል።

አቶ ሌንጮ እንደሚያነሱት፤ ኤርትራ ነፃ ስትወጣ የኢትዮጵያ ሕዝብ 50 ሚሊዮን የነበረ ሲሆን፣ ��ሁን ግን ወደ 130 ሚሊዮን ተጠግቷል።

የሕዝብ ቁጥር በከፍተኛ ደረጃ እየጨመረ ባለበት በዚህ ወቅት፣ የባሕር በር አለመኖር የሚያስከትለው የኢኮኖሚ መታፈን ይበልጥ አሳሳቢ ሆኗል።

በመሆኑም ኢትዮጵያ ከዚህ ማነቆ ለመውጣት የራሷ የባሕር በር የግድ እንደሚያስፈልጋት አጽንኦት ሰጥተዋል።

የባሕር በር የማግኘት ፍላጎት በአሁኑ ጊዜ ተስፋ ከመቁረጥ ይልቅ አዲስ ብሔራዊ ንቅናቄ እየፈጠረ ይገኛል። ኢትዮጵያ በሰላማዊ መንገድ እና በጋራ ተጠቃሚነት መርህ የባሕር በር ለማግኘት የምታደርገው ጥረት፣ ለቀጣዩ ትውልድ የተሻለች ሀገርን ለማስረከብ ካለ ጥልቅ ፍላጎት የመነጨ ነው።

አቶ ሌንጮ አክለውም፣ ይህ የባሕር በር የማግኘት እንቅስቃሴ በውይይት እና በ”ጥቶ መቀበል” መርህ ላይ የተመሠረተ መሆን እንዳለበት ጠቁመው፤ የአሁኑ ትውልድ ዓላማውን የመደገፍ የዜግነት ግዴታ እንዳለበት አሳስበዋል።

የኢትዮጵያ የባሕር በር የማግኘት ጥያቄ የቅንጦት ሳይሆን የታሪክ ፍትሕ እና የኢኮኖሚ ሉዓላዊነት ጉዳይ ነው። ዛሬ በሰላማዊ መንገድ እየተደረገ ያለው ዲፕሎማሲያዊ ጥረት፣ ትናንት የተነጠቁ ዕድሎችን ዳግም ለመመለስ እና ኢትዮጵያ በቀጣናው የኢኮኖሚ ማማ የመሆን ሕልሟን ለማሳካት የሚደረግ የታሪክ ጉዞ ነው።

ይህ የትውልድ ጉዞ በስኬት ከተጠናቀቀ፣ ሀገራችን ያላትን ሰፊ የሰው ኃይልና የተፈጥሮ ጸጋ ተጠቅማ በምሥራቅ አፍሪካ ያላትን የጂኦፖለቲካዊ ሚና ዳግም ከፍ እንደምታደርግ ጥርጥር የለውም።
