@DiverseAlz Unfortunately it’s not just children and other family members that commit scams against dementia sufferers. Service providers trusted members of the community. Vulnerable people are so dependent on people being morally upright.

The notion of ‘living well’ is difficult to pin down, and highly individual. I use this term, but it really means ‘Normal’ everyday life to me. It takes a lot of energy just to get through a day.

@DiverseAlz @LynnGamble20 To me i think power of attorney should be re-looked at. i think it takes the person of out the equation. there should perhaps be some sort of requirement to always inform, seek permission or share decision, making sure the person is at centre of their finances

@DiverseAlz Problem when visitors to my parents house knocked on door & said noticed problem with roof. They went up on ladders to look & wanted to charge extortionate price to put it right. Nothing wrong with roof. Got nasty, police called. Vulnerable people so open to scams #diversealz

Seeing response from @GCCcharity on how fraud, financial abuse, can have an "impact on confidence" and "long term emotional trauma". Sure many can agree with this not only for person with dementia but their families, supporters too. #diversealz #financedem
