Welcome to the reading twitter page for Great Coates Primary School. We will share reading activities and events that happen in school and book recommendations
Secret mission complete! I asked parents to send a selfie and a description of their favourite book they read as a child. Lots took part and the children loved matching their parent to the book! @WorldBookDayUK@PrimaryGreat
Year 3 sat and listened beautifully to year 6 reading a story to them this afternoon for @WorldBookDayUK. It was lovely to see our pupils showing kindness and respect towards each other and mixing with a different age group. @PrimaryGreat@GCP_Y5and6#DANCE
The children have all just picked a book to keep. Mrs Cox's class were thrilled to see another book linked to our last class read, The Last Bear. I wonder who will finish Bear Rescue first?#GCPReading@PrimaryGreat#Delightandjoy#WorldBookDay2026
A fantastic world book day in reception. We’ve been doing story hunts, creating book covers and making a beanstalk from Jack and the beanstalk. We were also lucky enough to receive our own book today take home. @PrimaryGreat@GCPreading#WorldBookDay2026#gcpreading
For National storytelling week we retold and acted out the story Monkey Puzzle. It’s one of our favourites in reception. The children did a great job of acting and narrating the story. @PrimaryGreat@GCPreading#gcpreading#NationalStoryTellingWeek
We enjoyed our visit from Luke Temple this morning. We found out about 'The Poo Monster' and were even the first school ever to be introduced to his new book 'The Pirates and the Poo Monster'. Lucky us ☺️ @PrimaryGreat#gcpreading
