Crazy that less than a year ago I created and used this cyber policy themed professional twitter for a college course and I now have a full time job in data policy. What a ride!!
So it happened today, I wore my mask from a parking lot into a store and I heard people muttering behind me to question whether I was an anti-Vaxxer.
Please remember that many of us with small kids still have to model safe behavior for them for the time being.
Thank you @POTUS Biden for finally imposing real economic sanctions against Russia over the #SolarWinds cyber attack, spying, and efforts to influence our presidential elections. https://t.co/fy0Px6CfRw
“The executive order is sweeping, covering a range of actions that can be sanctioned, from cyberattacks to election interference to transnational corruption.” #SPA440cyber
Love this! It isn't if you get attacked, it is when you get attacked at this point - all of this input is super important for prevention. #Solarwinds was a calibrated multi dimensional attack that continued as resiliency stayed weak. Trust nobody! #SPA440Cyber

I have also signed this important letter. Cyber capacity building is foundational for our societies, economies & security but, outside of a few generous donors, has not been a philanthropic priority—we need to change that. https://t.co/HtgSJDyDir #ExpandCyberFunding@theGFCE
A gunman slaughtered 8 working class people at a FedEx in Indianapolis. FedEx workers surrender their phones during their shifts. 1. The victims never called their loved ones. 2. We can be asked to give up our phones but *not* our guns. 3. We limit freedoms for workers not gunmen
Interesting start, now that there are sanctions against Russia... what are we going to do to prevent attacks from happening in the future? That needs to be discussed more, #SolarWinds has already happened. Let's now focus more on ways to to prevent future breaches. #SPA440Cyber
BREAKING: treasury announces action against #Russia as reported earlier by CBS (And first by Bloomberg).

A good start, but it will interesting to see how the Biden administration improves resilience in our cyber infrastructure and deter similar attacks in the future #SPACyber440
Analysis: President Biden's new executive order could oblige software vendors to report security breaches in the wake of the #SolarWinds supply chain hack

However as of right now, nobody knows if any of the emails were classified. There are many missing puzzle pieces in the #solarwinds breach, however this is some scary information to not fully know.
The #SolarWinds cyberattackers compromised the head of the Department of Homeland Security (#DHS) under former president Trump and other top-ranking members of the department’s cybersecurity staff, including former DHS Secretary Chad Wolf. https://t.co/nvdwTff9at
An executive order that could come out as early as next week is very important for preventing future #solarwinds type hacks. Part of the EO would create a coalition of federal representatives and cybersecurity researchers - which is already long overdue.

In a discussion today, #SolarWinds CEO just said sophisticated attacks like that which compromised his company and 9 federal agencies could be executed by a team "an order of magnitude or two orders of magnitudes less that what's been reported in the press," not "thousands."
"... the hackers were an “extremely well-organized cyber-espionage group,” with four teams named 301, 302, 303 and 304..." this article holds a lot of information generalizing who the hackers may be which adds a lot to the overarching conversation about #SolarWinds. #SPA440Cyber
