Today was one of the most difficult decisions the new ISA Board has EVER had to make. We held out hope for our student-athletes. Each AD was on board to wait as long as possible and we thank GDOE for doing the same. Still ... my heart is broken.

Based on the Governor’s extension of the government closure to May 5 and also the medical experts’ projection that we are in this for several more weeks, we cannot afford to bring back 30,000 kids and 4,000 employees together while keeping everyone safe. Health and safety first!

It is with disappointment, but also with a great sense of duty to protect students and employees, that I have decided to cancel GDOE classes for the remainder of SY19-20. ISA and middle school 4th quarter sports also canceled. We will continue school meals and distance learning.

Governor Lou Leon Guerrero recognizes volunteers in the Guam Department of Education (GDOE) Grab-N-Go no cost school meals program. GDOE is now offering over 11,000 meals to children ages 18 and under every weekday.
