@the_gaz88 If we’d went and searched and his was best candidate available then I’d get behind it but history has proven that’s not how this board operate. If he was the man for certain he’d be in door as resigned weeks ago. Full thing stinks
@Gre3nProphet@mikewizz1960 If that’s remotely true makes it worse. Cant close out deals. Polish a turd as you please but it’s clear board are subservient to Desmond and he’ll not make a decision until he’s good and ready. Terribly run club when it comes to football operations
@mikewizz1960@Gre3nProphet It’s all relative. No one’s suggesting we’re approaching the same candidates. It’s the speed at which they operate is the point.
If it’s Keane. He resigned weeks ago from ferencvaros and now we’re in talks. Cmon it’s just wrong how we operate. Just excuses
@GrandmasterSuck I think the significant difference is MoN sustained a challenge over 5yrs. 2 Mcliesh won were in last minutes of season. Other 3 MoN won were at a canter. Mon also spent big in first year and team limped on into final season not replacing Larson properly. A familiar story
@Gre3nProphet@Maxwell_Edison7 Except Ange won cup on a Saturday and spurs announced on the Monday.
Turns out Negotiations had been taking place for a while. Funny old game
@stuart_jaffray How do we know this? Lennon managed us in CL and his other jobs have been no where near that level. He’s a decent manager but not Celtic level yet has managed us twice cos he’s Lennon
@AidanCeitic_@Ryanclifford11 The rest of the board allowing it highlights how our club is run and why we struggle beyond domestic dominance. Since 2000 only MoN, Rodgers and Ange have been Celtic level managers that could progress us
The others were decent managers who did decent job
@jamessmith2012 If you can’t see the reason we’re not modernising and stalling is down to this approach where one shareholder just decides and we don’t search market then you’ve not being paying attention. We need best available not I know a guy
@terryoneill67@ThePundit_ VVD and Oriley Celtic was a massive step up
The other two aren’t the type of level we are signing anymore. At that level with options then yes they will need sold but if a guy from Milton Keynes needs sold we’ve issues. Our reputation as stepping stone to epl is the real draw
@Geesmith1872@AndyBorland4@talkSPORT Whatever way you cut it, his appt would be divisive for multiple reasons beyond Isreal. Bigger issue is extent of our manager search seems to be the phone book of a shareholder and a sub servient board looking the other way. It limits us moving forward
@_jkpnro Lot longer if you push to hard on every run. Fix your goal, train consistent 3/4 times per week, build up distance slow. Have targeted runs for speed and easy ones for distance, learning to control pace. It’ll come together
@Gre3nProphet World Cup semi finalist and Euro finalist manager. Will know all the talent in England. Good at building a culture within a team. Not a the worst shout tbh
@Mackay1981 He knew what taking the job would mean, if he didn’t he doesn’t understand Celtic. That aside he’s had opportunities to play for us and always chose EPL. He’ll be divisive due to past and closeness to DD. We can and must do better. Not even searching beyond him is disgraceful
