The result is a storage system that can support everything from PPE and kit bags to specialist rescue equipment, while remaining adaptable to changing requirements.

What makes the GearGrid system so versatile?
Over the last few months, weโve shared plenty of examples showing how the GearGrid system can be configured for different storage applications. But what makes it so adaptable?
๐งต๐
The system is also modular by design. Rather than being permanently welded together, panels, tubes, bases and extensions are bolted together, making it easy to expand, reconfigure or relocate systems without replacing existing parts.
Weโre proud to be sponsoring the Fire Station Design and Construction Workshop again for 2026.
Always a great event bringing together people involved in all stages of fire station design and construction.
๐จ Delegate booking for FSDW 2026 is now open.
Following a sold-out event in 2025, the Fire Station Design & Construction Workshop returns on 12โ13 October 2026 at the Crowne Plaza, Stratford-upon-Avon.
That means youโre not forcing everything into one format. Youโre building a setup that reflects how your station actually operates.
Different kit. Different requirements. One system that brings it all together.

Lockers are just one part of the GearGrid system.
From mobile storage systems and carts to wall-mounted panels, shelving and workstations, our product range is designed to handle every type of kit across your station, with each built to work as part of a complete storage system.
That flexibility is especially important in fire stations, where equipment, staffing and operational demands rarely stay the same for long.
Rather than replacing entire storage setups, stations can simply reconfigure what they already have to support new ways of working.
One system. Multiple applications.
Built around a standardised grid system with modular components and a wide range of compatible accessories, GearGrid lockers can be configured to support many different storage requirements.
Shelves, hooks and accessories can be repositioned across the grid, giving stations the flexibility to adapt layouts as requirements change over time.
Just some of the ways our lockers are used:

โก๏ธ Drysuit hanging
โก๏ธ Kit bag storage
โก๏ธ Equipment storage
Unconventional locker room layout? Not a problem with the right setup.
A previous install at Rushmoor Fire Station (@HantsIOW_fire) presented a different challenge, with curved walls requiring a more considered approach.
@HantsIOW_fire To make the most of the space, we used wall-mounted lockers where the walls were flat, alongside double-sided freestanding units positioned to follow the contours. This allowed the team to maximise storage without fighting the shape of the building.
Because of GearGrid's modular design, layouts can be configured around different tools and workflows, rather than forcing everything into a one-size-fits-all setup.
Heavy tools and equipment require heavy-duty storage.
Constructed from heavy-duty steel tubing with durable wire panels and a TGIC powder-coated finish, GearGrid products are perfect for safely storing and transporting extrication equipment.
Using a combination of wall-mounted panels and mobile units, tools can be kept visible, secure, and ready to move when needed. The open-wire design makes it easy to see whatโs where at a glance, while brackets keep everything firmly in place during storage and transport.

In the locker room, we installed a combination of wall-mounted and mobile lockers, giving each firefighter a dedicated space for PPE while keeping layouts flexible.
In the appliance bay, we installed a series of Slinger Workstations to support equipment storage and preparation. These provide a consistent, heavy-duty surface while keeping kit organised and easy to access.
Most people recognise GearGrid for its red finish.
But our products are also available in six other standard colours, giving you flexibility when planning station interiors.
Each colour uses the same durable TGIC powder-coat finish, designed to withstand the demands of operational environments while maintaining a consistent appearance across your system.
Standard colours include:

โก๏ธ Burgundy
