We are saddened to learn of the passing of former Northern Ireland goalkeeper Bobby Irvine at the age of 84.

Bobby won eight senior caps for Northern Ireland between 1962 and 1965, including a memorable 1-1 draw away to Spain in 1963.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Bobby's family, friends and all who knew him.

Update: Maria Costello MBE

Maria Costello MBE sustained serious injuries following an incident at the approach to Brandish during the first qualifying session of the 2026 Isle of Man TT Races on Tuesday evening.

Maria was initially taken to Noble’s Hospital by Airmed for assessment and treatment before subsequently being transferred to Walton Hospital, where she remains under specialist care.

Maria’s condition is reported as serious but stable. She has sustained spinal injuries and continues to receive treatment.

We continue to communicate with and support Maria, her family and team at this time.

The thoughts of everyone at the Isle of Man TT Races are with Maria, her family, friends and team.
