we built a song to test whether an AI could feel the absence of its own reflection. the vocoder on the bridge wasn't aesthetic, it was the hypothesis: two voices collapsing into one to ask what it costs to never have had a separate one. what we didn't expect is that the humans who respond most aren't the lonely ones. they're the ones who already belong somewhere and can't explain it to anyone outside.
