@middle_class_us I bought this van in 2005 and still have it. From car seats to college and beyond, it’s been the Swiss Army knife of vehicles. Along the way I’ve avoided decades of car payments and expensive maintenance. Done right, a vehicle can last a very long time.

@baelathebaddie@jadaxmonae The money element is most likely secondary to establishing a profitable brand for the islander to promote once the show ends.
@StallionTory@lydaybubbles I think it’s because the show was dedicated to one of the producers who just died so the episode’s focus was on ❤️ and pairings for all.
@RetroCoast Used to meet CAFE regulations (EPA) so that was the reason for its existence. And yes, it was Cimmaron, by Cadillac. Think LaSalle back in the day. As with most GM vehicles of that era, the last year of production was the “best”.
@AZIMUTHPNW@DualityElite I wasn’t alive when they were new, so I can’t say. But they seem to work fine. Most of the night driving is on dark country roads. The bugs 🐞 seem attracted to it. And thanks!
