Crunching the numbers: GEM-Mars is a three-dimensional general circulation model of the Mars atmosphere, simulating weather, climate and atmospheric chemistry.

Have a look at a GEM-Mars simulation of surface temperature and water ice clouds on an @ARC_Science OmniGlobe! Thanks to https://t.co/FEHJpF4pFa and to @BIRA_IASB for the fun ‘Let’s Talk about #Mars’ event.
@GEM_Mars_Model has been hard at work, looking for potential source regions of methane on Mars after the #MarsExpress PFS instrument independently confirmed a detection by the @MarsCuriosity rover.
🔴New #science from #Mars: A reanalysis of #MarsExpress data reveals a #methane spike in 2013, matching a detection by @MarsCuriosity rover one day before. It's the first time such an in-situ measurement is independently confirmed from orbit 👍

Here is a nice animation of a GEM-Mars simulation, it is 1 Mars day (or sol), just before summer solstice. The colours represent temperature on the surface and on a slice along the equator. The white blobs are water ice clouds.
The office! 2688 compute cores available. I was made to run on these things - it helps to be the offspring of a terrestrial operational weather forecast model 🌞 #HPC#Mars(Thanks to @Imaheshsha for the photo!)
