February 23, 2019 marks the 12th anniversary of the filing of the human rights complaint v. Canada for discrimination against First Nations children & the case is ongoing. Think about it- a child who entered grade one that year is graduating now. Children only get one childhood.
As an Elder told me "when you make a mistake, your first duty is not to apologize- it is to understand the harm from the perspective of those who were hurt & then demonstrate you have learned from your mistakes. Only after this should you apologize." Hope steps 1 and 2 were done.

Dear #adoption, you split me; will I ever be whole?
I straddle three families. Rejected by one - I'm unable to conform to their expectations. I'm a thorn in their side. Interloper.
Loved by my adoptive family but their lineage is not mine.
#adoption, you're not my savior!
