Spotlight on Kevie Drake, Research Coordinator for The NUMBER Project!
Kevie presented research and practical tips on communicating with parents about the importance of the home math environment to 75 early childhood educators at the Early Years conference in Boise, Idaho.
🎉🎉 Exciting to see this work being recognized! Our author team was awarded the Council for Learning Disabilities LDQ 2024 "Must Read" article for our publication focused on reviewing meta-analyses in #SPED#math#interventions for methodological rigor. https://t.co/FRpS562K5M
Yesterday, Taylor and I represented UO at MCLS. We presented with colleagues from different universities on math vocabulary and highlighted the components of a @UOCTLResearch Grade 2 whole number intervention that enhances "math talk" opportunities for students.
It was exciting to see all of the great research being presented on day 1 of the MCLS conference. Great job to Madison and Emily for representing two UO CTL projects!
🚨New publication alert!🚨 Janice is a graduate student on CTL's NSF Development Grant focused on developing home math interventions for children with developmental delay. Great work Janice! https://t.co/KVNaROzjre

https://t.co/FNmurfpl3d Great to see @educationweek has been focusing on the importance of #math screening and instruction.
@ssequinn @ssequinn Agreed! Interesting report: teacher prep programs continue to fall short on math methods even with growth in recent years (https://t.co/wXGkl01LG7). And, we need more PD for teachers in math (as reported by Perry et al., 2015).
Recruiting a PhD student for Fall 2024 (https://t.co/b1nt6vKqiT) and 2 PhD-level Research Associates (https://t.co/b1nt6vKqiT) to work on developing and validating Literacy Screeners in Alaska Indigenous Languages! Please share!

Grateful for the opportunity to travel to Bogotá this week to present on EBPs in math to ~50 teachers who work abroad and want to learn more about #bestpractices for supporting students with disabilities. The K-12 school that hosted us was beautiful! #specialeducation#mtss#math
Why is learning math at home so important for kids? Check out this blog post from @GenaNelsonPhD where she shares her motivation for conducting a systematic review of the literature on home based math activities. https://t.co/G7bnV2j2c9
