The Allied People Movement (APM) has officially unveiled Engr. Muftau “Open” Salawu, FNSE, FNICE, as its Deputy Governorship Candidate.

A distinguished civil engineer, entrepreneur, administrator, and public servant, Engr. Salawu brings over two decades of experience in engineering, infrastructure development, project management, and governance. Born into the Alapa Ruling House of Ogbomoso, he is widely respected for his integrity, competence, and commitment to public service.

Engr. Salawu holds a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, and has completed executive leadership programmes at Harvard University and the London Business School. His professional journey began with D’Alberto & Giampoli before he joined the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), where he contributed to major healthcare and housing projects across the Federal Capital Territory.

In 2006, he founded Opinior Engineering Company Limited, which has grown under his leadership into one of Nigeria’s leading real estate and engineering firms. The company has developed eleven estates nationwide and delivered over 1,000 housing units, reflecting his proven capacity to drive large-scale development and deliver results.

His dedication to public service has seen him serve as Special Adviser on Works and Transport, Executive Assistant on Project Monitoring, and pioneer Chairman of the Oyo State Project Performance Monitoring Agency. A respected community leader and traditional title holder, Engr. Salawu combines professional excellence, administrative experience, and grassroots connection, making him a strong partner in the mission to build a more prosperous Oyo State.
