“Yaxel Lendeborg” is the name of an unseeded underdog who almost upset Jannik Sinner in the Wimbledon Round of 16 and you’ll never convince me otherwise.

There is a quiet delight in reaching a life stage where everything you give and receive for Christmas is either practical or consumable (sometimes both!).
“I don’t see a lot of smiles out there,” the postal worker scolded us today . Lady, it’s 10 minutes before close, a week before Christmas, and everyone in line looks like 2025 kicked the sh*t out of them. Read the room.
Love how as we get closer to Christmas the emails from brands basically devolve into, “Look, we both know you’re a POS who waited until the last minute again. Maybe you can salvage things with a gift card, you absolute loser. Just do something, okay?”
Doing anything outside work or school (a book club, a rec basketball team, a board game night, etc.) where others depend on you to show up for the group is vital for your humanity.
@asmuniz@mattthomas It’s the breathing room for narrative. All the other (“bigger”) sports are either naturally aligned with the modern attention span or have acquiesced to it.
