#Afghanistan: @UN_SPExperts call on the #Taliban to immediately halt public floggings and executions. We additionally express concern about the fairness of the trials preceding these punishments, which appear not to satisfy basic fair trial guarantees.

Our teams are disappointed & outraged at the removal of the Afghan SIV program renewal from the NDAA. The program has long enjoyed bi-partisan support & thousands of our allies are still in harm’s way. Congress needs to quickly act together, as we are, to keep America’s promises.
Reading some of the comments. How people lack empathy and humanity. Look at the cold and they are saying waste of tax payer money. Where is our common decency and moral obligation to help & support people in need of safety. 😔

It is unfortunate to find out about yet another sad news and the killing of innocent lives. A suicide bombing today at an educational center has killed around 30 young girls who were preparing for exams and has left dozens of others injured.
Young women from #Afghanistan’s Hazara Shia community reportedly make up majority of 60-plus killed & injured in Kabul college attack. Those responsible must face justice. Taliban must fulfil obligations to ensure safety of all Afghans. Education must be prejudice & violence free
It is heartbreaking to find out that a person who has served most of his life for humanity in places like Afghanistan and in Iran, helping Afghan refugees, is currently passing time in prison in Iran.
He should be immediately released #Freeoliver https://t.co/VZfBtGHq76
