From what I've seen, these pretty cigarette boxes do attract a lot of teenagers to smoke, and the tobacco companies keep coming out with newer products every year. Aside from people like me, who have a little memory of the warning pictures of cigarette boxes as a kid. there are a lot of people younger than me who smoke, and the reasoning for the vast majority of them is "they're pretty, they look good in pictures, and they seem cool."
By the way, I'm also only 21, just old enough to legally buy alcohol in the US

I grew up in China as a child. When I was 4-5 y old, not only cigarette packets, even the streets would be post quit-smoking advertisements with pictures of lung cancer.
When I was about 8-9y old, the government claimed that these pictures terrorized children and wanted to eliminate them completely. Since then, I have never seen a cigarette pack with a warning picture on it, and those warning pictures have disappeared from the streets.
My peers who were 2-3y younger than me would not even have such memories or experiences.
Nowadays, there is no barrier to buying cigarettes in China, no one will check your ID.Even if you look 13 or 14 years old, the shopkeeper will sell you cigarettes, even if every store says "no smoking for minors".
Prices are low, there is no barrier to access, no controls, no warnings. Even though China is a large country with a large population and the number of lung cancer cases may be a large number, this number is still a consequence of the lack of control

自分の過去ツイートで一番反応あったのはこのイラストだが、描いてから6年経った現在、益々この姿に近づきつつある。
