Going down so that you can go up!
-There are roads less traveled because they don’t seem acceptable but those roads leads one to progress .
-I know someone who was working for UN in 2010 and his salary as a regional finance manager was giving him a net of $4150
-He left that job and joined an accounting firm where he went to get $160 USD per month doing articles.
-The second person whom l know also was a Zimra official and you know there are days when those people made serious money at the boarder,at the peak of making such money one guy left Zimra and joined an accounting firm.
-Unfortunately he was less prepared financially but when they made money he didn’t manage to do anything tangible.
-What made him leave is the reality that going up to leadership was going to take decades considering the madhalas at the top have been there some for the past 20 or 30 and has no plans of going anywhere.
-These two above they both qualified and they are now both Finance Directors one of them for a very popular ZSE company such that if l mention the company you can all know the person, that is how big this person has become.
-Third person,it’s a different industry all together, this one did banking and finance and worked in the banking sector for the past decade, unfortunately this is the crop who got peer pressure to stay in these expensive places taking loans at their bank.
-So Taps and his wife both were working for the bank, what then happened is they agreed to swallow their pride so the wife did nurse aid just before Covid 19 outbreak and she went, the husband followed after about 6 months,he went under via spousal visa.
-When he got their he looked for his job in the financial services industry,he got his job and worked for about a year the job gave him visa, then they cancelled the wife’s visa and paid to her sponsor, now they are both doing what they learnt when they were here.
-All l am saying is don’t let pride bully you into staying at one place thinking what will people say.
-it’s your life and it’s your plan,do what you have to do so that you can go up.
-Yes it might take a lot of courage for someone to go and receive instructions from some young broke person but it’s doable or to go and do dirty work in the UK as you find your feet.
-Yes one might need to adjust even his lifestyle but it will all come to pass, like that Zimra guy used to rent full house in Greendale he had to relocate and stay in Glenora l mean a move from $800 house per month to a $160 one,it’s massive.Imagine the wife’s friends reaction when they heard about it.
-He once told me how her wife was mocked by this other couple they used to play with and about 5years later that couple was fired for fraud at Zimra and they had not really planned their lives.
-However,l don’t get people who make a lot of money and don’t fix their lives and prepare for bad days.
-Go down so that you can go up!
