How do you pronounce niche?

I'm so conscious of it having two pronunciations that I can't say it without adding "some people pronounce it (the other way)."

I have no confidence in picking one without feeling like I have to explain I know it might be the other way.

The NCAA, for reasons only the NCAA understand, went ahead and passed the new rule last month (and before the next season started), but said it applies to everyone except this past season's seniors. As is, the rule doesn't let anyone who graduated HS in 2022 play a 5th year, but that's why they're going to court. They passed a rule and it should apply to this year's seniors, is what the lawsuit will be about.
