Last week, I was expelled from @Columbia for protesting the U.S.-backed genocide in Gaza. As president of @SW_Columbia , Columbia’s student workers union, I was also fired from my job. The Trump administration is pushing their narrative. Here’s the real story. 🧵
This gives rise to the necessity of socialism to continue class struggle towards its culmination in communism. We only know and understand what is apparent to us at each moment in history. The goal is to continue to progress not view ourselves as the “end of history”.
No serious socialist will argue feudalism as supreme to capitalism.
Progressions to new means of production will arise out of the social relations prevalent at the time maintaining pieces of the old in the new. Just as the aristocracy became archaic so will capitalism.
@mpgavpa @nhannahjones@jasonintrator Gentile was a Marxist in aesthetics alone. He opposed class struggle and only viewed Marxs use of unity(again not on class lines) as a useful tool. Gentile believed in an ubermensch sort(uomo fascista). Their ideology was very similar to the notsees. Again opposites of Marxism.
The American ideology is much easier to understand when you realize Americans, especially the right wing, are primarily motivated by fear fueled by mass fear mongering(a typical anti communist trope) and an alienation from any sense of community or ability for change.
“Reality does not exist on its own, in and for itself, but only in an historical relation shop with the men who modify it, etc.” Gramsci viewed epistemology as directly related to the ruling ideology. He provides an expansion on the base and superstructure model.
9) If you have not read Gramsci may I recommend that you do :) Gramsci was largely concerned with ideological hegemony, praxis and its role in revolutionary through, and the collective conscious. There is so much of his work written 100 years ago that is legally relevant today
“Capitalism has proved incapable of transcending fundamental weaknesses such as underutilization of productive capacity, the persistence of a permanent sector of unemployed, and periodic economic crises related to the concept of a “market”- which is concerned with people’s

value.” The basic law of socialism is “the securing of the maximum satisfaction of the constantly rising material and cultural requirements of the whole of society through the continuous expansion and perfection of socialist production on the basis of higher techniques”.
7) a short but concise examination of many of the problems in creating socialism and its interactions within the market economy. Great notes on the relation between relations of production and factors of production. “[The] basic economic law of capitalism is the law of surplus
6) This is a must read for leftist. It addresses key features of fascism as well as resistance to fascism. “Community self defense is anti-fascism”. Often forgotten is the communist resistance to the notsees and it’s impact throughout Europe as a whole.
@ND_Trucker76@CrimesEnjoyer@commiedamion While the use of fascist as a descriptor is much overused there is a global rise in fascism which is typical as capitalism fails. Lenin once said fascism was capitalism in decay.
@ND_Trucker76@CrimesEnjoyer@commiedamion Nazis were explicitly not socialists, communists, or marxists. Fascist tend to co-opt leftist language as an attempt to conceal true motives.
