HUAWEI has unveiled the Tau (τ) Scaling Law, a new principle guiding the evolution of both semiconductors and electronic systems, which is expected to deliver transistor density equivalent to 14 Å (1.4 nm) processes in high-end chips by 2031.
What is LogicFolding? For circuit design, it aggressively compresses propagation time between adjacent flip-flops, tightens critical path & enables chips to run faster. HUAWEI high-end chips are expected to feature transistor density equivalent to 14 Å (1.4 nm) processes by 2031.
I am advertising for a fully funded 3.5 year PhD (with enhanced yearly stipend) exploring accelerating HPC algorithms on AI accelerators such as including @cerebras and @tenstorrent . @EPCCed is the UK national supercomputing centre, lots of exciting things going on!
March was my last month at @imperialcollege where I spent the previous 6 years and 6 months (since October 2018). I am grateful to have completed a PhD and worked as a Post-Doc Researcher at this institution.

Our work impacts industry-relevant applications in various fields, including seismic imaging, medical ultrasound, and CFD. We evaluated the strong and weak scaling of four wave propagators of industrial interest (Isotropic Acoustic, Anisotropic Acoustic (TTI), Isotropic Elastic with and without viscosity) across CPU (16384 CPU cores) and GPU clusters (128 A100s).

After 6 years of service the Isambard 2 supercomputer is finally being retired! Starting in May 2018, Isambard was the world's first production Arm-based supercomputer, employing ThunderX2 CPUs. Isambard 3 takes over today using NVIDIA Grace Arm-based CPUs provided by HPE
