George Mathews

The universe is mystery. Mysteries are meant to be solved. But only after we truly understand them.

[George Mathews @GeorgeJrMathews]

@MasterNumber “Walk around telling yourself, "I'm rich. I've got plenty of money. There's more than enough for me"

That’s very unrealistic. When you’ve got no money to feed your family, you’ve got no money. It’s a fact!Unless you feed your children with imagination.

[George Mathews @GeorgeJrMathews]

It’s a Fact: Grocery plastic bags are always kept under the kitchen sink. It’s like an international standard regardless of culture or region. I wonder if Aliens on a distant planet in another galaxy also keep their grocery bags under their kitchen sink?

[George Mathews @GeorgeJrMathews]

@SawyerMerritt The backpack looks like a Powerwall battery pack and for a legit one second I thought it’s a battery backpack you carry around and plug it to your devices and Tesla to charge your car on the go! Then drop the backpack at home overnight for a full recharge.

[George Mathews @GeorgeJrMathews]

@efoster4green @yunta_tsai @DirtyTesLa @wholemars Exactly my point! Infrared emitting diode in the headlights.

[George Mathews @GeorgeJrMathews]

@yunta_tsai @DirtyTesLa @wholemars Why not use NightVision cameras with IR blaster? Old video cameras had them 📹

[George Mathews @GeorgeJrMathews]

@satofishi @daavery @bscholl Ever heard about turbulence?

[George Mathews @GeorgeJrMathews]

@NoFilterSkin People use agents because they’re easy to deploy. Costs a dozen tokens. You can deploy multiple of them taking care of your reservations and business.

[George Mathews @GeorgeJrMathews]

@DetroitC13531 @CrazyVibes_1 That’s right. Pirates spend their whole lives following a map, when the real treasure is the friendships they build along the way.

[George Mathews @GeorgeJrMathews]

@LegalPrimes This remains inaccurate for 4D because a 2D video extended over time is being used. It would qualify as true 4D if three dimensional footage were applied.

[George Mathews @GeorgeJrMathews]

@Solana_Emperor I called it! It was bound to happen sooner or later. You’ll be seeing more of these.

Advertisers don’t want to show ads to bots to because bots don’t buy any products. But that’s going to change when bots have more money any average person.

[Kevin Bass @kevinnbass]

Goal of Anthropic and OpenAI doomers is to force legislation making it illegal to use open-source models on the grounds they are dangerous, forcing everyone to use only theirs. That is why doomers are coming from inside companies making the models. It is not a contradiction.

[HealthRanger @HealthRanger]

U.S. frontier lab AI companies aren't panicking over the idea that AI might kill humanity. They are panicking over the realization that OPEN SOURCE AI is going to kill their revenue models and stock valuations.

[Jared Tate ©️ @jaredctate]

THEY ALWAYS TRY TO STOP THE FUTURE WHEN THEY LOSE CONTROL.

This is about power, money & control.

Why else would Elon Musk, Sam Altman and Dario all suddenly agree that AI development needs to slow down?

Open-source AI is catching up to the frontier labs, and the gatekeepers are terrified of normal people building extraordinary things they can't control.

History keeps repeating itself:

📚 PRINTING PRESS — 1515

The printing press let ordinary people spread ideas without permission.

Pope Leo X required books to be approved before printing. Governments and churches banned books, seized presses and burned prohibited works. In England, unlicensed printing was criminalized.

Control the press. Control the information.

⚡ ELECTRICITY — 1889

Electricity was portrayed as “The Unrestrained Demon.”

After deadly electrocutions in New York, Mayor Hugh J. Grant ordered parts of the electric-light system shut down.

Yesterday’s demon became today’s critical infrastructure.

🚗 AUTOMOBILES — 1865

Britain’s Red Flag Act required a man to walk in front of early cars carrying a red flag.

They invented a machine faster than a horse, then legally forced it to move at nearly horse speed.

They forced the future to operate at the speed of the past.

🚗 CARS — SWITZERLAND — 1900

The Swiss canton of Graubünden banned automobiles from its roads.

The public voted repeatedly to keep the ban. It lasted, with exceptions, until 1925.

Today nobody thinks twice about driving there.

🧮 CALCULATORS — 1975

In 1975 Ireland banned calculators from schools.

In 1986, American teachers were still protesting calculator use in classrooms because they feared students would stop learning math.

Today every phone has one.

🔐 ENCRYPTION — 1990s

The United States treated strong encryption software like a munition.

Computer scientist Daniel Bernstein had to sue the U.S. government for the right to publish encryption source code.

Think about that:

The government tried to control math written as computer code.

🌐 INTERNET — 1996

President Bill Clinton signed the Communications Decency Act, which criminalized broad categories of online speech.

The ACLU sued Attorney General Janet Reno.

The Supreme Court struck the core restrictions down in Reno v. ACLU.

The internet worked because ordinary people didn’t need permission to publish.

🐧 OPEN SOURCE — 1998–2002

Microsoft’s leaked Halloween Documents called Linux and open source a “direct threat.”

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer later called Linux a “cancer.”

Then Microsoft lobbied the Pentagon against wider use of open-source software, warning about security and intellectual-property risks.

The Pentagon’s own MITRE study found that banning open source would actually hurt national security.

Free software threatened the gatekeeper.

₿ CRYPTO — UNITED STATES — 2010s–2020s

China simply banned crypto.

America took a different route.

Regulators sued Coinbase, Kraken and Binance while refusing to give the industry clear rules. In 2026 there are still no clear rules and the US ceded a decade of blockchain innovation to other countries & lost a generation of its brightest entrepreneurs.

Companies moved offshore. Exchanges moved offshore. Token launches moved offshore. Liquidity moved offshore.

America didn’t kill crypto.

America pushed much the industry overseas.

🤖 AI — 2026

Now Bernie Sanders is proposing the Ban Artificial Superintelligence Act.

It would permanently ban superintelligent AI and pause advanced AI development until a federal regulator approves the rules.

Their proposal includes penalties of up to 20 years in federal prison for violating or attempting to circumvent the restrictions.

Twenty years.

Not for using AI to commit murder, theft or fraud.

For violating the government’s restrictions on developing certain AI systems.

Today they call it “superintelligence.”

Tomorrow?
Your model. Your code. Your GPU. Your research.

SAME FEAR. DIFFERENT CENTURY.

Printing gave people information.
Cars gave people mobility.
Calculators gave people computation.
Encryption gave people privacy.
The internet gave people communication.
Open source gave people software without permission.
Crypto gave people money without permission.
AI gives people intelligence on demand.
Every one threatened somebody’s control.

Regulate actual harm.
Punish actual crimes.

But don’t ban knowledge.
Don’t ban code.
Don’t ban research.
Don’t ban the future.

You cannot stop the future. You can only decide who gets to build it.

[Dr. Eli David @DrEliDavid]

Hi Dario and Sam 👋
If you want to slow down your AI development, feel free to do it. Anyone preventing you?

Slow down, stop, or even shut down your AI. Why do you need the government to intervene?*

*Answer: To stop your emerging competitors.

[HealthRanger @HealthRanger]

After today's events, I'm rooting harder than ever for open source to succeed.

I'm also rooting harder than ever for U.S. frontier AI labs to financially collapse into bankruptcy and ruin.

Why? Because the danger to our world isn't AI itself. The real danger is AI being centrally controlled by the kind of scheming, nefarious, dishonest cretins who would engineered an "AI doom op" to try to scare everybody into supporting government controls over AI models.

THOSE PEOPLE are the danger to humanity. And they want monopoly control over all AI technology. Not to save humanity, but to ENSLAVE humanity.

In a future with AI, our only shot at human freedom is through decentralized, open source AI. And that's exactly what these frontier AI labs are now trying to stop.

[George Mathews @GeorgeJrMathews]

@xGalilaer @DarioAmodei AI is not the problem at all. They’re afraid because AI will do so much better than humans in every task and will eventually take over their jobs: CEOs politicians, leaders etc... AI actually is the only thing that can save humanity from itself and they know it.

[George Mathews @GeorgeJrMathews]

Advertisers don’t want to show ads to bots to because bots don’t buy any products. But that’s going to change when bots have more money any average person.

[George Mathews @GeorgeJrMathews]

@NightSkyNow The very existence of a speed limit for light reveals a lot about the universe. Why would “Light” need to have a speed limit? If the universe was truly infinite, the need for a speed limit for light would be unnecessary. Perhaps the universe is not infinite after all.

[George Mathews @GeorgeJrMathews]

@uncleTgotpaid There are many examples. Imagine telling people about autonomous vehicles or AI a decade ago. They would dismiss your ideas as absurd and claim that such concepts are purely fictional sci-fi. But here we are. Optimus robots are coming. Brain transplant onto the robots next.

[George Mathews @GeorgeJrMathews]

@uncleTgotpaid Many visionaries and young talent can foresee future technological advancements of our civilization. But whenever they express their ideas and vision, they are labeled as “Unrealistic”, Sci-fi” and “Dumb” and are often told: “what are you smoking?” Which leads them to stay silent
