I'm so disappointed in the difference between the Japanese Nintendo Direct and the English one.
They left out most of the JRPGs from the English version. Like what the heck. This trend is scary, because it means that Japan thinks that JRPGs do not sell well in English speaking countries. And it may disencourage small JRPG producers from localizing their games. 😔
JP stream: we're remaking one of the most culturally influential games of the generation that has spread so widely across the internet some people dont even know it originates from a game franchise
Global stream: watch this guy play awesome thumb fighting
Correction on this part : According to the reveal stream, the art is actually a very carefully traced redraw by Curee of AQUASTYLE. This is probably easiest to see on Flandre, as the shading on her dress is very much in line with how shading is done in Genso Wanderer.
New circle Shanghai Alice Reprise with members ZUN and JYUNYA was created to make Touhou Project games playable on modern platforms.
Their first title is "Touhou Koumakyou: New Classic - the Embodiment of Scarlet Devil," which includes both a remake and a faithful recreation of the original Touhou 6 game.

I'm not kidding when I'm saying that this is probably the most important moment in the franchise's history since the switch to windows (aka EoSD's initial release)
ZUN is just subverting ALL OF my expectations at every turn . First remaking the game . Actually getting his SD90 working with his PC again (the full extent is still unknown) AND LOCALISATION . ZUN could literally do anything at this point at this point. Unused stuff or new stuff
