Impeachment. Somebody help me out here. It clearly says in our Constitution that the Chief Justice of SCOTUS shall preside over a Senate impeacment trial. The Constitution doesn’t recognize a Senate majority leader. There were no political parties then?

It clearly says that the Chief Justice of Supreme Court shall preside over Impeachment trial of Donald Chump, not Mitch McKnucklehead. The Constitution doesn’t recognize a Senate Majority Leader because it is a political party office not an official office like Speaker of House.

Plus the Constitution clearly directs the Chief Justice of SCOTUS to preside over the coming trial. Not Mc Connell There was not even a Senate party leader when our Constitution was established. There were no political parties in 1789..
