Nope. Public roads are prone to accidents. Any major accident happening underground is a recipe for unmitigated disaster. Unless it's public transportation, private cars should stay mostly above-ground.

@mabdullaht_S392 There are now a lot of push for local Li-ion recycling efforts, as mining the raw materials is dominated by few countries. Though recycling is still not much more economically viable than mining, economies of scale would soon make it so.

As commercial rocket launches become more frequent and routine, emissions are bound to follow. Major technological breakthroughs to tackle pollution would take a lot of time. Fuel efficiency should be the most viable short-term.

@ALKAFIY This Russia-Ukraine war is becoming a test-bed for drone warfare technology. Seeing Ukraine's huge success with it, this will inevitably lead to a more mainstream drone use. Advanced military technology always trickle down to civilian commercial use eventually.

Delivering critical medical supplies, like blood and vaccines, via drone would save a lot of lives. Although commercial drone use is a bad idea in urban areas, Canada should look to apply this technology in our far-flung northern provinces
