Today i had the opportunity to work with Oktogan MMA champion Kerim Engizek and medical & health coach Scott KetoDoc. Great to see how high level athletes coming from other sports like MMA are showing interest in freediver breathwork! 💪💪 4:15 and 4:37 static apnea times!!
Most freedivers chase maximums, I chase walks in the park 😉 If you can make a certain distance a walk in the park, image how much further you can actually go if you really would go for a maximum.
What's inside the Underwater Squad Everything I wish someone had taught me when I first started freediving.

Session - DNF
- multiple 50m laps - technique
- few 25m laps legs only - technique
Notes
- I haven't dialed in the best leg kick technique yet. This is about mobility in the hip, knees and anckes, and that is not something you fix in a few weeks.
The High Cost of Pushing a 100& Maximum
Pushing a 100% maximum costs you more than just the dive itself. You pay for it in recovery time, in your next session, and in the risk you're taking on for a number that might not mean what you think it does.
New Wetsuit, Different Technique.
New gear forces you to adjust your technique. You have to relearn what you thought you already had down.

The Hidden Void: Why We Strive for Personal Bests
People chase maximums because the number gives them something concrete to point to. Without it, they're left wondering if what they're doing actually means anything.
Comeback Week 12 💦🤿 Getting back in my rhythm 📝
-------------------------------------------------------
Day 3 — Pool | 1hr
Session - DNF technique

Comeback Week 12 💦🤿 Getting back in my rhythm 📝
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Day 2 — Home | 20 min
Session - dry static
- No Contractions 5x
Notes
- Relax evening session. No intensity today 🙏
Comeback Week 12 💦🤿 Getting back in my rhythm 📝 -----------------------------------------------------------
Day 1 — Home | 20 min
Session - stretching
- Thoracic stretching with gym ball
- Shoulder stretches
- Hip mobility for better NO FINS kicking
People still freedive alone. They know it's wrong, but they do it anyway. And then someone drowns.
I see it in the comments. "I know what I'm doing." "I'm just in shallow water." "I've done this a hundred times."
That's exactly what everyone says before it goes wrong.
Freediving Trip in a Month? Train Your Breath-hold first!
Booked a freediving trip in a month? Start training now. Not the week before. The 6-Week Breather Challenge gets you ready with 15 minutes a day of breathing work. Structured. Calm. From home.
Static Apnea High Volume Training Up To 5:30
In this training session i started with a 2-minute breath-hold, increasing the time with 30 seconds on each hold, to eventually go to 5:30
Session STATIC in the pool
Notes
- Progressive tables allow me to ease in gradually into longer holds. It's a good feeling.
- mild HV, allthough on the 5:30 i was a little bit hypoxic. Next time need to cut down on the HV.
Today's Session
- Double 3:00 (tidal breathing)
- Dry static with tidal breathing is def more challenging than static in a pool with mild hyperventilation, like i did last week.
- When i follow U2, i'll stick to tidal breathing for all tables.
20x 50m DNF (No fins)
Total time: 1hr
Total distance underwwater: 1km
This is actually fun. Don't overthink the rest intervals. They don't matter. Just keep moving.
Volume builds what single attempts can't.
Focus on technique. The rest will follow.
